Cottonport Historic District’s Antique Alley in West Monroe features stores, galleries, and eateries. Anglers flock to Ouachita River, Cheniere Lake, Lake D’Arbonne and Caney Lake, where bass thrive. East of Monroe, the Russell-Sage Wildlife Management Area features horseback riding, hiking, birding, camping, trapping, and ATV trails. Other attractions include the Aviation and Military Museum of Louisiana, Northeast Louisiana Delta African American Museum, and the Quachita River Art Gallery featuring multi-dimensional works by area artists. The Twin City Drag Way racing season runs February to November. The Ike Hamilton Expo Center hosts rodeos and livestock events. In Wheeling, the Louisiana Lawnmower Racing Speedway operates rain or shine, July through September. Shopping options include Pecanland Mall and Pecanland Commons, Twin City Plaza and Twin City Shopping Center, Eastgate, Northgate, Southside Shopping Center, and Westpoint Shopping Center. Dining ranges from sweet tea and barbecue to Asian fare.
